  How It All Began
   
Founded in 1996 as Video Specialties, we started with a single product/service - Video Family Album™ - in which we used a VHS video camera to shoot photographs and record them to VHS tape.  As PC-based video editing became available and more affordable, we expanded our product line to include documentaries, sporting events, original children's productions, and animation videos.   
   
So, why would anyone want this Video Family Album™?  Perhaps it would be best if we describe how this all came about.  
   
In 1992, my home was destroyed by a fire.  I lost nearly everything I had.  While I was eventually able to replace most of my things, I would never be able to replace my personal photos - they were gone forever.  Then, a few years later, when massive tornados struck the Oklahoma City area, subsequent news features on TV documented how a group of citizens had organized an effort to recover lost photographs and return them to their owners.  I knew there MUST be a better way!  
   
About that time, at a family reunion, a relative of mine showed a tape that she had made shooting photos with a video camera.  She had even recorded background music, although the quality just wasn't very good.  I thought to myself,    "I can do better than that!"  And so, a few months later, Video Specialties was born.  
   
Our "anchor" product remains the Video Family Album™, but now we use digital image scanners - MUCH better quality and faster production speed - and the end-product is in digital format - DVD and CD.  We also found that many of our clients simply want their photos scanned and saved, foregoing the video production and simply enjoying the peace of mind of knowing that their irreplaceable family photos are safely copied and stored.  With that in mind, we now offer PicSaver™ digital image scanning service.
